BAK KU TEH

Our second stop is to a very different kind of Bak Ku Teh. :)

The particular Bak Ku Teh is not from the very famous spot for Bak Ku Teh like Klang, but this foodie stop is actually at Kelana Jaya, down straight from the Kelana Jaya LRT Station

 Name: 一心阁 Yi Xin Ge
Address: No 23, jalan SS4D/2,
             Taman People's Park,
             Petaling Jaya,
             Selangor.
An old school shop sigh

This Bak Ku Teh as mention, is a Hakka Bak Ku Teh. When you see the shop itself, you can actually feel a kind of vibe from it, its like you in a coffee shop from the late 50s. Not just the shop sign is old school but also the setting inside, very "uncle auntie" type of shop. :)
So with this shop, people will think that is not the kind of place young people will want to eat, but no from what was found on the internet lots of young people actually liked it. Most of their comments say that this shop's Bak Ku Teh is very unique.

Shop Outlook:

Inside of the shop

Newspaper Articles
This shop is so popular that it has newspaper articles about it. Which is prove that this Bak Ku Teh is THAT good! :D If you notice there is an article in Japanese writing on it, this shop was also feature in a Japanese food magazine.

Lets Get On With The Food:
we just ordered 3 items :)
As the picture shown, we ordered 3 items.
1st: Tofu skin with soup
2nd: pork rib bak ku teh
3rd: pork meat bak ku teh
Along with rice and some Chinese tea.

Well, as you can see, the soup of the Bak Ku Teh is not the typical dark color, it's because this Bak   Ku Teh is made purely from Chinese herbs. The soup looked like any normal soup but also had that herbal scent that everyone looks for in bakuteh soup. Not saying other Bak Ku Tehs are not using herbs but this shop's specialty is the soup, is so herbs tasting, but not overwhelming. And which the taste is different and unique :D
Believe us, this soup is very delicious. It's those kind of food that you won't get bored of. As we consumed the the three broths, the taste of the soup was just simply delicious. Every mouth full of the broth filled our taste buds with herbal scent which was just right. We really highly recommend this Bak Ku Teh shop.

If your the kind who love the HERBAL-LIOUS taste of Bak Ku Teh, then try this YI XIN GE Bak  Ku Teh. promise you'll love it :D

Please look forward for our 3rd and last post :)
Thank You :)
